Wente Scout Reservation Campsite

It’s our first time to join cub-scout camping and we definitely not regretting it.  My son told us that it was the best camping he ever had.  More fun for kids because they have more time to play with their scouting friends.

Boy-scout of America owns the property and only exclusive for the members and family. I was surprised when most of the activities for free for kids and adults.  Except for the riffle range and shot guns for adults.  But still they charged pretty cheap for 1 per 10 rounds of riffle bullets.  For two rounds my arm is already aching.

WENTE SCOUT RESERVATION - BOY SCOUT RESIDENT CAMP is located in the heart of Mendocino and a few miles from the downtown. Wente Scout Reservation is a Nationally Accredited Boy Scout camp located near Willits in Mendocino County. The 80 acre lake offers outstanding swimming, boating, and fishing. With 2200 acres the camp offers a great variety of programs.

The hall on the left is their dinning room when you purchase with the meal plan

Here's the beautiful view of the lake
Since we stayed during memorial day.  Night time is a real drop of temperature but not so bad when they have this little canopy and underneath is our tent.  It's like a blanket over a tent. Isn't it very neat?

Of course we wouldn't missed the archery.  The staff are very friendly and will surely explain the safety of everyone.

They have stables and you can go horse riding around the camp

The beautiful surroundings and its nature.

Since there is a fire hazard alert we are not allowed to make bonfire, so during at night, they have campfire activities.  They have a little stage and everyone are invited to perform.  Every camp staff members participates and kids loved and enjoyed their kid’s friendly jokes and skits.
